Josie Schuller is not your ordinary housewife, she is also an efficient killer for hire! But it's not easy having to juggle family and work and having a distrustful mother-in-law. And, things gets even worse when Josie's boss decides that it's time for Josie to retire...for good!

This graphic novel combined humor and action and to top it all, really great art. I found myself quite engrossed in the story, this is like a 60s version of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, without the Mr.

Josie Schuller is a dedicated wife and mother and now and then she has some work to do that her family and neighbors have no idea about.

Then everything goes wrong, her boss just thinks that her time is up, she fails to carry out an assignment and now she has to fend for herself and not let her family know anything...

Josie and her loving family...

And, her mother-in-law...

Meet Josie Schuller: full-time homemaker, part-time assassin. Life is all about balance for Josie and she’s slowly starting to lose control. Between a nosey mother-in-law and a boss who doesn’t think she can get the job done, Josie must decide how to mix her career and personal life.

Josie reminds readers of a Mad Men era housewife, as she throws the perfect luau themed party for her husband’s birthday, but her mother-in-law isn’t falling for that act. The elder Schuller has seen Josie sneaking around with a man at odd times of the day and watched his car circle the house. Josie works to convince her family and friends that she’s actively “volunteering”, but in reality she’s a ruthless killer for hire.

When Josie fails to make time in her personal life to accommodate meeting times for her profession, her boss decides she’s no longer a fit for the company and puts a hit out on her. How will Josie escape this one? How will she make sure her family doesn’t find out her secrets?

Jones and Rich weave a brilliant, satirical story of a housewife gone rouge. You’re instantly cheering for Josie and her strong-willed character. The story is everything you want from a graphic novel. ( )

The illustrations in this comic are fabulous! My eyes were glued to the page. It was a fun story line (for great insight read the introduction, you won't regret it!) enhanced by the amazing graphics. Female assassins aren't exactly known for getting their hands dirty. Suffocation and poison are the general favorites, but this comic turns all that around. A doting housewife and mother LOVES killing and loves getting her hands dirty. She'll take any job as long as she's back in time for dinner. Her superior is becoming annoyed that she isn't available at any time (because you know, kids) so he starts to think about cutting her loose, but they may prove to be very very dangerous idea. Lots of fun! Worth a read! ( )

Josie's just a normal early 60's American Housewife in Seattle...well, maybe not normal. She has a job...as an assassin. The artwork is gorgeous. Josie's style is en pointe. The story is fun and fantastic. I can't wait to see what Josie does next. (And the ladies of Helen Ellis' American Housewife collection of short stories would totally want to be friends with Josie.)
