Il aura suffit à Jo Hoestlandt et Carmen Segovia une vingtaine de pages d’un album aux teintes vieillies pour nous rappeler, à travers une histoire universelle qui ne nomme ses personnages ni ne désigne ses lieux, ce qu’est l’amour familial: cette petite tâche rouge tenace qui perdure au fil des pages, immuable malgré le temps qui passe. Ce sentiment qui se transmet au fil des générations, qui se doit d’être réciproque et demeure indispensable à tout être humain. Cet album est l’occasion d’évoquer, ou simplement d’effleurer, des thèmes probablement inconnus du jeune enfant : la vieillesse et la nostalgie, liés à la question du temps qui passe, la rupture sentimentale, l’urbanisation qui implique la dénaturation du paysage et parfois même sa destruction. Mais avant tout, cet album offrira, à tous les âges, une véritable leçon d’amour.
