I received this book in exchange for an honest review. This fact had no impact on my review.

This is the first ever children’s book I have agreed to review, while it was new to me this once, I am almost positive that this will not be the last one that I read / review.

The story is about a little boy named Bob who lives on a farm in Michigan. Like most kids who are born as the youngest of the family, all he wants to do is fit in and help out. He loves to try and help out, but no one ever lets him. They are always telling him ‘Maybe next time’. This is something Bob is tried of hearing. His Mom realizes this and lets him do some small chores around the house and then he feels a lot better.

The story line was adorable. I was the youngest kid until I was seven and I remember going through this with my older siblings and parents. I then remember doing the same stuff to my little sister. ‘You’re too little for that, you need to wait a while’. I once used this to get out of taking her to see a Harry Potter movie! This is something that almost any kid can related to and I know that I enjoyed it and so did my niece and nephews. The only issue I had is the amount of freedom she gave Bob at the end of the story. Then again, when I was a kid I was allowed to walk up the road to a busy gas station, the world has changed so much that if I was raised in today I would not be allowed to. (Mind you, I am only 24. It’s just the area has gotten so much busier that I don’t even like making that short 15-20 minute walk now).

The only thing I didn’t really like was the graphics. Something about them was a little off. Don’t get me wrong, they were still cute, but something just seemed a little weird. My nephews however, adored them. The drawing style for some reason reminded me a little of the Archie comics I used to read as a kid! I miss those days!

All in all I give this book a four star rating. :D
