Loading... A Particular Cowby Mem Fox
None. about a cow that has regular days everyday except that one particular saturday she goes through a whole adventure and gets some bloomers stuck on his face and starts to trip on people. and makes a big mess, its a series. once the cow messes someone up that leads to someone else getting messed up, someone tripping, and someone even getting thrown in the water. A particular cow thinks he's having a usual Saturday until he got off track and ran into a variety of people, ruining their day. He didn't realize what he was doing and went on with his day. Primary The text to this is a good example of realistic fiction in that is something that could happen in real life, although it is a little extreme but the illustrations make it more into fantasy by adding talking animals and making things all so close together. The character of the particular cow is static. She is still the same cow after all of this happens. She does not change at all. Summary: Mem Fox tells the story of a particular cow who goes on an ordinary walk. On this walk, the cow ends up running into a pair of bloomers. The bloomers cover her eyes and cause her to run into many different groups of people, causing chaos and havoc to the town. The cow ends up disturbing a group of sailors on a boat. It is here that the bloomers fall off and the cow is able to jump onto land and finish her walk. Critique: This fiction shows the story of a cow who runs into some very unlikely situations. The cow and other animals included in this story show emotion and even talk some. The illustrations in this story are priceless. Each character has unique facial expressions and reactions to this cow disturbing their peace and quiet. The pictures are what create the setting to this story and are able to engage the reader in what is happening in this story. Without the illustrations, the story would portray the setting as well in order to build the storyline of the book. Teacher Use: A teacher could use this book as a read aloud to young children. The teacher could read the story then ask the students if they remember all the things the cow ran into along her walk as a good exercise for listening. Media: Oil Paints A cute, silly story. Not too much text, which is good. But there wasn't really a proactive conflict resolution. I prefer the main character to proactively resolve the conflict. no reviews | add a review
