This was one of two books presented to me when I left primary school in July 1986.

Memory tells me that I've read this twice. I will have read it around the time it was presented to me and, although I recall little about it now, I know I really liked it.

I definitely read it a second time, as I recollect my being somewhat disappointed with it. No doubt a few years had passed and the book had become "too young" for me.

Derick Brown is credited as the illustrator, not the author. I believe the author to be anonymous, as no name features on the spine, covers, or inside the book.

Recommended for children under twelve. ( )
