Super ending... but the first half was a slog and no mistake. Massie comes across as irritatingly self-centred, and she and her friends seem to be at least half as b-itchy as the stepmothers they hate. On the other hand the feel of Massie, Vannie and Natalie as late-teen girls is authentic, as are the issues they are wrestling with. Jack is a teeny bit too perfect For example, the jock footballer is also an artist? Really? , but Tyler is more balanced, and I have lost count of how many guys I've known who were exactly like Blake. The plot was very good and the supporting characters ditto. Second half pace was good.
I make it 2* for the first half, which dragged. 3.5* for the second half and 4* for the finale, which I will admit I did not finish without looking for a tissue.
