The charges against corrupt DEA agent Nicole Rollins include murder, conspiracy, and gunrunning. She’s under heavy guard, being transported from jail to federal court when she makes a daring escape that endangers a school bus filled with children and leaves five agents dead.

Federal agents searching for her are certain Nicole will flee the country and Lucy Kincaid, assigned to the FBI’s San Antonio field office, becomes part of the largest task force Texas has ever seen. Certain that if they don’t capture her she will continue her killing spree, both the DEA and the FBI are, at the same time, attempting to discover if one of their people could be the mole in their organization that provided Nicole with the information that allowed her to execute her daring escape.

But Nicole hasn’t fled the country; she has a sinister plan for revenge . . . and her scheme will target everyone that Lucy Kincaid holds dear.

Fans of the Lucy Kincaid series will find much to appreciate in this fast-paced story. Well-developed characters, a true sense of place, and a plot that twists and turns as it ramps up the suspense all serve to keep readers on the edge of their seats until the final page has been turned.

Highly recommended. ( )

But when Rollins makes a daring escape—jeopardizing a busload of children and killing five officers—Lucy becomes the key to the biggest manhunt in Texas history... and the target of a brilliant killer.

Some believe Rollins has fled the country. But Lucy suspects her plan is far more sinister—a taunting game of cat and mouse that hits much closer to home.
