Blood Burdens picks up where 'Uniquely Unwelcome' left off, with Racquel, Addie, Danika, Ethan, and the rest of the gang doggedly pursuing the powerful & evil Cerelia. The characters develop more depth, with Racquel growing the most as she finally begins to feel accepted by some people within the Shadow World.

In preparation for the battle to come Racquel continues trying to learn what her powers and abilities are and control them at the same time. It is a constant and frustrating struggle each day, but she is determined not to let Cerelia win and unleash her heinous plan on the unwitting world.

Full of action and adventure, this book is an excellent sequel to 'Uniquely Unwelcome.' Definitely recommended, both for the physical action and the verbal sparring as Racquel is determined to buck the system and remake some rules. ( )
