Christine Falls by Benjamin Black
Take this Bread: A Radical Conversion by Sara Miles
What a fun thread! Right now I'm in Ireland (I think) with Benjamin Black's Christine Falls . Just before that I briefly visited both modern-day and 17th Century Venice in The Rossetti Letter, although I admit I didn't enjoy that visit very much and left early. Before that I was in Sarajev ...
I have posted my review of Christine Falls . I really enjoyed the book and I am grateful to have received a copy. I am a Banville fan and I look forward to reading The Silver Swan. It may be intimidating that the NYT and NYBR have reviewed the book already, but I think I bring the perspective ...
... second in the series of mysteries involving the Dublin pathologist, Quirke, The Silver Swan. Black’s follow up to Christine Falls was an excellent, fast passed whodunit with (no big surprise) some beautiful prose. My only negative criticism of the plot, and this was very minor, was ...
My early review of Christine Falls is up here . I use the term "early review" a bit loosely here. This book is NOT a new book. My edition is recent but the copyright is 2006! I'm not sure how this book qualified for the "Early Review" ...

I snagged Christine Falls too; looking forward to it. Mine hasn't arrived yet and I'm impatient too 8) It's up for an Edgar Award!
I've read several Gruber books in the Jimmy Paz series and liked them--santeria and all.
I got Christine Falls , looking forward to it. Has anyone else's copy arrived yet? Or am I just impatient? 8)
Christine Falls hurrah!
#133 make sure you have updated your address on your ER profile.
citygirl I got Christine Falls also, but I figured that alot of other people would have said they got it
Did no one else snag Christine Falls ?
Well since I knew I didn't stand a chance of getting a E.R. copy of Christine Falls by Benjamin Black, I went out and got a copy. Thats what I am currently reading. I'm about a third of the way through. Very interesting story.
I'm getting that one, too -- The Forgery of Venus by Michael Gruber. The only other one I requested was Christine Falls which I'm prepared to buy anyway.
Sorry about that. Elephants.
I got a mystery (woo-hoo!), Christine Falls . What do you know, the Algorithm must have liked those offerings. :-S
... me a small eternity to read (I've been working on it since November). I also got three new books from the library today: Christine Falls by Benjamin Black (John Banville), The Seduction of the Crimson Rose by Lauren Willig, and Fieldwork by Mischa Berlinski. Christine Falls and Fieldwork ...
#11. Christine Falls by John Banville/Benjamin Black.
This is not a run-of-the-mill mystery, as I would expect in a book written by John Banville. In fact, I'm not sure that there is really a "crime" to solve so much as their is an uncovering of evil. I enjoyed the way the story unfolds in ...
Oh I was a bad girl at Borders last nite--I got Ask Again Later, Christine Falls , and while I was trying to walk out the door I saw and had to buy The Welsh Girl. Now they called me that my pre order of Firefly Lane is in--man I need more money.
A batch of my holds showed up at the library today:
Away by Amy Bloom
Priest by Ken Bruen
Christine Falls by Benjamin Black
Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day by Jeff Hertzberg
In the Woods by Tana French (Touchstone isn't working)
Better get reading!!
>16 & >17 I agree that I'm not interested in reviews that aren't the words of the LT users. In Christine Falls , the review that just appeared above mine is lifted wholesale from PW, I think, without accreditation. That seems seriously wrong to me.
I like reading people's reviews, if they are ...
