I'm not familiar with this play so can't compare this adaptation to the original but based on others I've read in this series I can conclude it is faithful to the original. Like Shakespeare's comedies in general, this is a tangled web of deceit and has many storylines running through it with people pretending to be other people and confusion being the name of the game. Knapman tells the story very well and cohesively keeps all the parts together wrapping each up nicely by the end. Any bawdiness, if at all, intended in the original isn't found here as the plot is only as deep as what we're shown. However, this edition is perfectly suitable for children and I can say for myself, I now have an understanding of the plot were I to visit this play again. I do like this series very much. ( )
