Julian has been forced into being a love slave. Cursed to spend eternity alone. He has been called upon hundreds of women to fulfill their sexual fantasies. Julian knows every way to please a woman yet he has never known love.

Grace Alexander is celebrating her 29th birthday with a girls night in. An old book recently found by a friend in an old bookstore ends up being center stage of the parties activities. A book that promises that all of your desires will be made true. She finds herself completely enthralled by the photo of a man that can only be described as a Greek god. Not taking it seriously Grace gives in when her friends persuade her to do the chant that will bring forth her fantasy lover.

Julian has never been shown kindess, concern or love and is baffled when Grace does not react to his advances. She teaches him that he can be loved. Together they discover what true love is and conquer the boundaries that will try and stop it. ( )

The story is brilliant, I love the presence of Greek mythology characters and the way fiction and the present time was blended perfectly. I have to admit I didn't really warm up to the characters, I felt like someone from the outside looking in. It does have a page-turning quality to it, we have a not-so-perfect hero and obviously flawed heroine. I like the way the story progressed, there were a lot of unpredictable moments, it seems like all the scenes were foreplay waiting to explore to a shattering orgasm. There was a little humor with the way they argued, Julian's background was explained in detail and he is the focus of the book. His life is really colorful and I appreciate the part where he adapts to the 21st century. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of Ms Kenyon's works in her Dark-Hunter series. Her writing style is fluent, fast-paced, and vivid. ( )

This is the second of Sherrilyn Kenyon's books I've read (yes, I'm reading them out of order) and I didn't like it as much as the other one. I liked both of the characters well enough, and the plot was entertaining, but I got very tired of the constant talk about how they got hot for each other with each glance and touch. Come on, really? Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0312979975, Mass Market Paperback)

Dear Reader,

Being trapped in a bedroom with a woman is a grand thing. Being trapped in hundreds of bedrooms over two thousand years isn't. And being cursed into a book as a love-slave for eternity can ruin even a Spartan warrior's day.

As a love-slave, I know everything about women. How to touch them, how to savor them, and most of all, how to pleasure them. But when I was summoned to fulfill Grace Alexander's sexual fantasies, I found the first woman in history who saw me as a man with a tormented past. She alone bothered to take me out of the bedroom and onto the world. She taught me to love again.

But I was not born to love. I was cursed to walk eternity alone. As a general, I had long ago accepted my sentence. Yet now I have found Grace--the one thing my wounded heart cannot survive without. Sure, love can heal all wounds, but can it break a two-thousand-year-old curse?
