Grace Alexander is a sex therapist, who has not had sex in four years. One night, under the influence of wine and convinced by her new-age friend, she castes a spell to draw an ancient greek love slave out of a book. Julian of Macedon, formerly a Spartan general, appears naked and gorgeous in her living room.

But this is a perfect cotton candy book. Lacking in substance, but oh, so fun to read.

Despite the poor, cliche ridden writing, the characters are well developed. And even though the sex is somewhat over the top (I laughed a couple of times), the romance is truely romantic and endearing. There is something incredibly sweet about the way these two deeply wounded people find comfort in each other. There loves grows naturally beyond lust and sex, into an everyday fondness and a comfortable tender intimacy.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. ( )

The story was very beautiful. I should have realized it from the title but the book was very graphic - not something I was prepared for. Still, great story - great book. ( )

This novel is about what you'd expect, given the title, but it is also surprisingly endearing. Romance novel meets a host of psychological complexes with a few Greek gods mixed in for good measure, Fantasy Lover proves very entertaining for occult/mythology enthusiasts looking for a more traditional romance novel.

The Kindle version is in desperate need of a good grammatical editor! ( )

A light-hearted fantasy romance. Sex therapist Grace Alexander has been celibate for four years after experiencing a horrendous relationship with a self-centered, cruel former lover. Grace's over-the-top tarot reading friend Selena decides it's time to get Grace back in the swing of things and she has just the answer. She has an ancient book that contains the ultimate male specimen who has been cursed to live between the pages of the book for eternity - until he's called out with a magic spell to serve as a love slave to his summoner for a period of one month.

Grace goes along with it, not believing for one minute that she will end up with a love slave. She is horrified when Julian actually turns up, and even more horrified when he gets right into fulfilling her every sexual dream and fantasy. Grace tells him no - and as they start to talk she discovers just what a heartbreaking, loveless and dark life he's lived. Grace decides to show Julian just what friendship and love mean by rescuing him from his curse.

Turns out the only way to do it is to abstain from sex for the whole month that Julian has to serve Grace. Julian is programmed to please - how on earth are they going to get through the month?

This is a beautiful story, sensual, funny and very moving. I highly recommend it! ( )

I really like Julian and Grace's story because Grace is not perfect, but Julian loves her as she is. Go, Grace! Imperfect people deserve love, too! The characters are well-rounded as well as the plot. I did not want to put it down! ( )

Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0312979975, Mass Market Paperback)

Dear Reader,

Being trapped in a bedroom with a woman is a grand thing. Being trapped in hundreds of bedrooms over two thousand years isn't. And being cursed into a book as a love-slave for eternity can ruin even a Spartan warrior's day.

As a love-slave, I know everything about women. How to touch them, how to savor them, and most of all, how to pleasure them. But when I was summoned to fulfill Grace Alexander's sexual fantasies, I found the first woman in history who saw me as a man with a tormented past. She alone bothered to take me out of the bedroom and onto the world. She taught me to love again.

But I was not born to love. I was cursed to walk eternity alone. As a general, I had long ago accepted my sentence. Yet now I have found Grace--the one thing my wounded heart cannot survive without. Sure, love can heal all wounds, but can it break a two-thousand-year-old curse?
