This was a fun book to read. It also has a size 18 heroine who is much appreciated for her curves. The writing was great and the story hooked me almost immediately. I just learned that this is book 6 in this series, and there are quite a few more books. I like a series where you meet other characters from the world the author creates. I'll have to start back at Book One, but I'm happy to do so. ( )

I'm absolutely loving the Dark Hunter series. This one was near and dear to my heart what with me being a plus size girl myself. Bride was one of my favorite heroines so far. I love the idea of a seriously hot and ripped warrior being able to love a size 18 girl. A real woman! The story was great and the romance hot, what's not to love. ( )

Vane Kattalakis, a were hunter, is not looking for a mate. The enemy wants him dead and the Fates see fit to mark him with a human mate.

Bride McTierney is done with men. They do not see her or love her for who she is.

Vane must convince Bride that the supernatural is real and that they belong to each other. Together they must conquer the enemy and secure a future for his people. ( )

So Sherrilyn Kenyon readers can take a break from Dark-Hunters because this one's about a Were-hunter and more, but that doesn't mean they're not present here. Kyrian and Amanda are here together with the ever-present Acheron and his cute demon Simi, who I'm getting fond of more and more.

From what I've read in her previous novels, I'd consider this a light read. No betrayal, no ghastly tortures, and such. Vane does have scars and Bride wasn't the conventional heroine when it comes to physical looks. I liked that SK wrote about different people, that not all heroines need to be sexy or a below size 6.

I liked the family values in this story and was really happy for Vane to have found his family, I was also amused by the magic. Of course there were expensive cars, time-traveling, and wolf mating rituals that I found interesting. Their story happened quickly (less than 3 weeks) and it's really too good to be true, but hey it's fiction, right? It was really entertaining especially when I read about the squires. I really liked their attitude.

I'm quite intrigued with Valerius, he's next. ( )

Book description

Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0312992424, Mass Market Paperback)

Bride McTierney has had it with men. They're cheap, self-centered, and never love her for who she is. But though she prides herself on being independent, deep down she still yearns for a knight in shining armor. She just never expected her knight in shining armor to have a shiny coat of fur...Deadly and tortured, Vane Kattalakis isn't what he seems. Most women lament that their boyfriends are dogs. In Bride's case, hers is a wolf. A Were-Hunter wolf. Wanted dead by his enemies, Vane isn't looking for a mate. But the Fates have marked Bride as his. Now he has three weeks to either convince Bride that the supernatural is real or he will spend the rest of his life neutered--something no self-respecting wolf can accept...But how does a wolf convince a human to trust him with her life when his enemies are out to end his? In the world of the Were-Hunters, it really is dog-eat-dog. And only one alpha male can win.
