A good collection, mainly anecdotal, of techniques and ideas for making the most out of the Outdoors. When describing this as a family book, I'd say it was more for a slightly older family. Whilst some of this was applicable and helpful for me with younger children, like, under five, the majority would be better suited towards a family with pre teenage, or teenage children. Good fun, with some good websites to acces, recipes to use, and some interesting general information on weather, foraging and camping. This is not dispensable, but is an interesting read. Really this is for those with an interest, who have done some camping before, want to do more, and have an older family with which to enjoy it. ( )
