I was worried that the Parkinson's Disease might be a distraction from the plot, but it actually enhanced the story. ( )I picked this book up from my husband's nightstand because I was bored and had nothing to read....what a gem! I was riveted from the get-go. I love that it's British, loved the writing style, and was captivated by the unfolding story and the "what's going to happen next?" question every time I picked it up. A good ride! Although the story uses the classic tension of an innocent man trying to clear himself of a murder charge, it still caught & held my interest. Told by a protagonist struggling with a newly-diagnosed debilitating disease, the story is somewhat unique in that the reader is never really 100% sure (at least I wasn't!!) if the main character is innocent & who the real murderer could be! Enjoyable read. This is an excellent debut by a new mystery writer. Robotham's best. Suspect presents a highly likable but also flawed narrator that you can't help but root for. The character is the best part, wrapped in a murder mystery that takes our protagonist from London to the Welsh countryside and to other parts of Europe as he works to clear his name. no reviews | add a review
