A devastating look at the green movement. Lots of numbers and data to back up the thesis that the earth is used to fluctuations in the environment and that the political melodrama is getting in the way of this fact. His main contention is that the greens are simply using environmentalism as a tool to bring about world government. Based on the included quotes of some of the movement's leaders, it's hard to disagree.

It is funny that all the defenders of Stalinism gave way to the defenders of Goreism on the political Left, isn't it? Whatever the flavor of the decade I suppose. ( )

Sad that solid facts to back up sound arguments are lost amid a political hack job. There are real, honest to goodness scientific nuggets that need to see the light of day which are presented in this book. However, the method of presentation leaves much to be desired. When the argument should be presented as such - "The global warming-hurricane's getting worse connection just can't be made because the data simply doesn't back it up", it ends up coming across like this "The global warming-hurricane connection, pushed by liberal envirowhackos, seemingly can't be made because the data doesn't back it up, thus again proving their idiotic agenda has no merit." I'm paraphrasing & making extreme examples of course, but my point is when you mix the politics & the science it's that much easier to dismiss the science. And that comes across as a huge disappointment when reading this book. ( )

The Politically Incorrect Guide to Global Warming: (and Environmentalism)

Book description

Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0786161760, Audio CD)

The Big Media have spoken: on the question of global warming, the debate is officially over. "Be afraid, be very afraid," warns Time magazine. But have Al Gore and his environmentalist allies really proven their case? Not even close and in The Politically Incorrect GuideTM to Global Warming (and Environmentalism), Christopher Horner exposes the shoddy science, plain dishonesty, and hidden political agenda behind the biggest phony environmental scare since...well, since Green predictions of catastrophic global cooling in the 1970s.
