( )Summary: Karen Beaumont paints a great story with the help of political cartoonist David Catrow. The main character a young girl gets into trouble for painting all over the walls. Once she is clean she finds a way to get her paint back and starts painting her whole body. The only thing that stopped her from painting in the end was that she ran out of paint. Review: Great skill in the illustrations. It is as if the main character paints everything in the house. The facial expression of the mom was particularly funny. School Use: I would use this book to discuss character drawing. I would also have a short discussion. How are the characters different and how are they the same? Is there a style that the illustrator used? IN the rhythm of a familiar folk song, a child cannot resist adding one more dab of paint in surprising places. This book shows children the joy of painting, but also the text in the book is a song. Children can learn about rhythm with this book, enjoying art while their at it. I think this is a great book for young children, expecially to inspire them to sing and paint! 425L,GRL K,GL 2.3,5 copies no reviews | add a review
