Ruby is a sassy, witty, and smart kid who doesn't like being told what to do and has a big imagination. Ruby's father senders her a postcard and senders her on a quest to find five gems. Her father does not give any instructions and Ruby is forced to make a plan. This launches her into the basics concepts of coding including, the multitude of opportunities to solve problems along with it. How to use - This would be a great introduction to coding, probably used for 1st or 2nd graders. This book could also accompany the coding unit that we did junior year. Meet Ruby―a small girl with a huge imagination, and the determination to solve any puzzle. As Ruby stomps around her world making new friends, including the Wise Snow Leopard, the Friendly Foxes, and the Messy Robots, kids will be introduced to the fundamentals of computational thinking, like how to break big problems into small ones, create step-by-step plans, look for patterns and think outside the box through storytelling.
