Been meaning to get around to this book like forever.
I have had a copy on my kindle now for well over a year but wanted to reread the rest of the series before embarking on this final instalment.
Well after finally getting around to rereading and then onto this all I can say was it was definitely worth the wait and I really did adore everything about this.
Slightly sad to be leaving Vlad and Leila behind now but also ever so glad that the conclusion here to there epic love story and adventure together lived up to all my expectations, and they sure were huge folks.
I believe I have mentioned that this is one of my top vampire romance series ever so was crossing my fingers and toes that this last book would be worthy and it was.
So this was action-packed from page one it really was non-stop throughout.
This was such an integral part to Vlad and Leila's onward journey as they undertake the massive feat of attempting to break the spell that is metaphorically holding an axe over both their heads.
Vlad is using all his many wiles to extract them both from the predicament they currently find themselves in and he will do and sacrifice anything or anybody to save his beloved Leila she is his whole world.
This book was equal parts amusing but also then heart-wrenching it really was a satisfying conclusion to this ongoing saga.
As I said earlier I am sad to be saying goodbye to these two, but do also hope to catch future cameos of them again in future books set in this world.
Also looking forward to getting to know Ian better, he does intrigue me and After the way, his hand evolved here should be an interesting ride.
This was a fantastic series that I highly recommend a five-star experience all the way.

Listened to audio version, narrated by Tavia Gilbert. Leila is in danger and they must find Vlad step son. Very enjoyable, Ian is brought in to help them and is fun comic relief. Some nice twists and turns and learning more about characters.

I want to start off by informing you that I am totally a Jeaniene Frost fangirl. I really do enjoy her books a lot and I can't put my finger on the exact reason why I just overall love her writing and her characters. The narrator for this audiobook did an amazing job. She was able to put the feelings into her voice so good that it blew me away. It has been a while since I have listened to an audiobook too so maybe I didn't pay attention to those things before. I don't know.

This is the finale to the Night Prince series in the Night Huntress World. These books featured Vlad and Leila and their romance. Over the four total books, you get to see Leila transform into a strong badass woman. I suspect Leila and Cat (The OG Jeaniene Frost badass chick) will be best friends in no time. Vlad has also changed a little but really he is always angry and ready to kill anyone in an instant. This definitely doesn't change in this book as they search for a way to remove the spell that is linking Leila's life to Vlad's nephew. Mircea has also been trying to kill Leila and is Vlad's enemy. With Vlad's tendency to kill first ask later, this has forced Vlad to have a little patience.

This really does finish off the series good. I feel like it is a good ending and a good HEA. You see just how far Vlad is willing to go to save his wife. It also completely sets you up for Ian's book coming this fall. So I would read this for sure just so that you can see the events that lead into Ian's book properly. Will I be getting Ian's book? Yes, I already pre-ordered it because I have wanted Ian to have his own book forever. Fangirl... ( )

Into the Fire
3 Stars

As a huge fan of Vlad and Leila, the announcement of the 4th and final installment in their story came as a welcome surprise. Unfortunately, the book itself does not live up to expectations.

The chemistry that sizzles between Vlad and Leila in the first three books is almost completely doused, and their loves scenes are less intimate and more "going through the motions" than anything else.

The plot revolving around a group of necromancers using the connection between Mircea and Leila to blackmail Vlad has potential, but the execution is tediously slow and about as exciting as watching paint dry.

Another disappointment is Ian's portrayal. Gone is the morally ambiguous bad-boy vampire, and in his place is a moronic idiot with lines out of a sleezy porn movie. That said, the events toward the end of the book involving Ian are intriguing enough for me to give his book a try when it comes out. Yes, I'm a glutton for punishment.

In sum, Night Prince would have been better off remaining a trilogy.

I satisfying wrap-up to this spin-off series. I never really loved this series the way I did the original, or the standalone spinoffs, something about them as a couple never really grew on me, but I loved the Ian and Vlad testy sarcastic flare-ups. And I can't wait for the Ian book that's bound to be in the works with that set up by the end. And hey, that's another series I'm caught up with.... well until she writes Ian's book. ( )
