Children often feel afraid. This book, with its comforting words and illustrations, will help children address those fears and learn some new ways to cope with being afraid.

This book is about a little bear and what he or she does when he or she feels scared. The bear talks about what it feels like to be scared, things that could make someone scared, and what they do when they get scared. One particular page says "it's not being a baby to be scared. I can tell someone that I am scared" and has a picture of the little bear telling mama bear about it. This is a great way to let children know that it's a good thing to talk about feelings with parents or other loved ones. Although this isn't a story about overcoming a particular hardship, it is still valuable as it normalizes frightened feelings as well as gives examples of how to deal with those emotions. ( )
