Peeps by Scott Westerfeld
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
...and are both YA vampire novels (and have been highly, highly recommended).
Also, Christopher Moore's new book, You Suck!, is a sequel ... #26 I gave up after Book 10, Crossroads of Twilight.
I now refer to the series as Wheel of Torture! I finally got po'd at the whole series, kind of feeling that I had invested so much in the books, characters and stories, and there is no payoff whatsover in sight.

Howl;; Howl's Moving Castle ... Twilight by Stephenie Meyer I've read that book about 3 times and I've only had it for a couple months! ... finally read Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and am amazed at the quality of writing. My fave of the year has been Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. I didn't mean to but I totally fell in love with Edward Cullen from Twilight. Cold and often dominating, yet incurably romantic, Edward has seeped into my heart. ... to me, although Boy Meets Boy seems like one that would most appeal to me outside of the genres I would normally read. Twilight, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, and Terrier I personally would not want to discuss as I have already read them, but they are all good books ... My five (okay, I know I'm going to be stretching it a bit) favorites of what I've read in 2006:
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
Secrets by F.M. McPherson
The Mediator series by Meg Cabot (I'm counting all 6 books as one!)
The Guardian's of Time Trilogy by Marianne Curley
Conf ... The best books I've read in 2006 are:
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
Night by Elie Wiesel
Sunwing by Kenneth Oppel
Vimy by Pierre Berton
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
Yep, I have to admit that I also fell for Edward in Twilight.
I also crushed on Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice and that was before I saw Colin Firth play him!
Dave the Laugh is my favorite from the Georgia Nicholson books as well.
I fell for David in Uglies, but then Zane came ... Edward & Jacob from both Twilight & New Moon *swoon*
There was a guy from A Great and Terrible Beauty but of course I can't remember his name now :/ It was last year though when I read the book, if that makes any excuse. Alright, I've heard so many people rave about Twilight I figured it was about time so I've now picked it up. I am also starting the audio version of Inkheart thanks to a previous post..thank you!
On a non-YA note, I just finished Into Thin Air, the audio version and it is phenomenal. Fa ... ... of books you like so I'll just suggest a couple I like :-)
I read a lot of YA lit so these are my YA recommendations:
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
Peeps by Scott Westerfeld
I am the Messenger by Marcus Zuzak (can't get it to touchstone although I thought I was spelling it right)
... ... Harry Potter books, Dairy Queen. I also thought Day of Tears was very well done, but very depressing and sad. I read Twilight first then I listened to it, I thought the audio was ok. I didn't think it was great, but I did like it and will probably listen to it again!
... of that.
And since the book has been mentioned here several times, I've heard really good things about the audio of Twilight, though I haven't listened to it myself.
I'll stop there before I get (even more) carried away. Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. My favorite book always changes. I would have to say now that the favorite it Twilight and New Moon. I also love the Mediator series by Meg Cabot. EVER so much better than Crossroads of Twilight. By miles.
Still, I was disappointed that there wasn't more of Rand and Egwene, and I'm glad that the succession of Camelyn is (hopefully) over, because I found that part almost interminably dull. ... Black, since I just bought it a few days ago. Other YA books that I'd like to try because of reading about them here are Twilight, Blue Bloods, and The Book Thief. That last one doesn't actually seem like something I'd have picked up on my own, but it's been praised so highly that I'd ... ... day that a friend of mine has a cousin that lives in Forks. Crazy.
Back on subject, I completely adore both Twilight and New Moon. Yes, there wasn't enough Edward, but I felt there was a LOT of excellent character and plot development in New Moon that added a whole new depth ... ... now it is The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.
I would recommend the book to older teens and adults.
I also loved Twilight and New Moon by Stephenie Meyer! Other favorites are A Great and Terrible Beauty and Rebel Angels by Libba Bray. ... of the contemporary YA fiction which is out there. I'm particularly fond of the vampire and paranormal stories, such as Twilight by Stephenie Meyer and Meg Cabot's Mediator series.
I love that there is such a variety of stories available in this genre today.
