Book description
"CAN WE GET AWAY?" RIKER ASKED

When Data answered he sounded almost apologetic. "I do not think so, Sir."

"Damn," Riker hunched forward and gunned the shuttle to full power. For a moment, the ship surged ahead - and immediately faltered.

Imperceptibly at first, then with greater certainty, the ship was being tugged toward the misty bulk of the energy disturbance looming ahead.

"What is it?" Riker muttered.

"Sensors are operating only intermittently. But we may soon find out," said Data, referring briefly to his computer screen. "We are being pulled toward its center."
