Bob Greene decided to keep a day-by-day journal of his newborn daughter's first year of life. The result is this enchanting book, filled with humor and wonder and awe at the process of parenthood and growing. Greene's account of his daughter and wife so moved me that I was particularly distressed to learn years later of his divorce. I guess the one way in which I do not envy Bob Greene's life is the strain that his itinerant life must put on his relationships. ( )
