A stunningly put together, heavily illustrated selection of six hand-picked stories by Stephen King. With artwork by Glen Chadbourne ranging from two-page spreads to a graphic novel format, this would make an amazing addition to any King fan's library. Contains "Home Delivery", "Jerusalem's Lot", and "The Reach" in a oversized text, heavily illustrated. Also contains graphic novel adaptations of "The Road Virus Heads North", "Rainy Season", and "Uncle Otto's Truck". ( )

This is not a typical graphic novel. Glenn Chadbourne has fully illustrated six King short stories, across two volumes, but every word of those stories is present. They have not been edited as with many graphic novel adaptations. Done in black in white, in varying styles (panels with dialog boxes, pages with paragraphs of text, etc.), this book is a unique accomplishment. If only it could have beeb in color!

My only criticism is that the price is high, even for the gift edition ($75). So, the average reader is unlikely to get a copy due to the limited print run and price. Collectors lucky enough to get the signed limited or lettered editions are probably gloating, but their wallets are significantly lighter for it! Recommended. ( )
