Another Christmas Cracker from Carole Matthews. I don't know how she does it after so many titles, but the writing doesn't feel cliched and formulaic, just fun and frothy on top, with a hint of something darker underneath - just like the hot chocolate or coffee's that the Chocolate loving ladies love so much.

Lucy, Nadia, Chantal and Autumn first made their appearance in the The Chocolate Lovers' Club and then in the sequel The Chocolate Lovers' Diet should you want to read the series from the beginning. However there is no reason why you should not read this latest title as a stand alone (apart from missing out on two equally good reads).

The blurb pretty much says all you need to know about the general plot, so no spoilers will be spilled here. Suffice to say, if you're already a fan of Carole's this book won't disappoint and if you're not then I suggest you give it a go. I'm aware that the genre that Carole writes in is well populated with a plethora of Chick lit/Rom Com (for want of a better description) titles on the market. However there is also what I would deem to be an elite of really good writers of that genre and for me Carole is one of the best. Her books are fun and feelgood, but her characters also face real life dramas which add a touch of realism to the plots which gets you more involved with the characters and the plot. The thing I love about the Chocolate Lovers is their friendship and the sense of sisterhood that pervades the pages. They are not bitchy, but the sort of women we'd all like to be friends with - and who wouldn't want to be friends with other women who could eat chocolate for Britain!

If you want a good fun, feelgood book to curl up with then look no further, this is your book.
