This is lovely story about a little girl named Kaya. She finds a lone dog near her village. There are something that happen and tell you have they become friends.

It also tell you a little about Naive American back in 1764. It quite a quick read but there some historical history about that time. There unique friendship that bonds. Kaya befriends a dog who is alone and away from the pack that live with the tribe. Everyone else says not to trust the dog (who has a bit of wolf in her blood), but Kaya earns the trust of the dog, and the dog and her puppies join the pack. The dog is a lone dog in the end, however, and does not want to be with the others. Kaya allows her to go her own way when the tribe moves on. ( )
