If that doesn't get you, imagine if Game of Thrones featured actual feminism - that's the Queen of the Tearling series. Amazing. Erika Johansen has such an amazing grasp not only on plot, but on characters as well. Villains have their backstories but remain villains; Kelsea is not a Mary Sue after all and suffers the weight of humanity like all the rest. I finished this series in a matter of two weeks and I enjoyed every moment of love, horror, and escapism fantasy. Definitely books I'm going to revisit in the future. Quite the complex finish to this series. The time travel back and forth might seem intimidating to some readers, but it ultimately completes the framework to what happens at the end.
