Book description
Slee examines the rise of the so-called 'sharing economy' and considers the altruistic and community-orientation of the major players (such as Uber and Airbnb) to be false. He explores the way these devices for marketing over the web exploit gaps in regulation. His view is that wealthy interests from Silicon Valley are benefiting while maintaining the "sharing" pretense. He draws some parallels between the sharing economy rise and calls for governments to provide "open data".
