Good friends support each other's dreams is the message underlying "Bing and Chutney." Featuring a pig who loves to cook and an elephant who loves to dance, the story shows these very different characters pursuing their own passions. Though Bing stays at home when Chutney heads off to the big city to find fame and fortune on the stage, she bravely encourages her friend and then plunges into a busy and fulfilling life at home. She starts a cooking school and becomes a renowned baker. When the two friends are reunited, the close bond they shared is as strong as ever and the book ends on a satisfying, affectionate note.

Konigslow's colourful, lighthearted illustrations are perfect for this warm story of friendship. Her ballerina elephant and chef pig are delightful characters. Using few words, she manages to capture the essence of friendship with humour and playfulness.
