This is a fun book about a tortoise named Shelley who decides she wants to go out in the winter weather and not sleep like all the other tortoises. Although the other turtles, and other animals tell her it is ridiculous for him to be out in the winter, she goes out anyway. She soon realizes she is freezing and wants to go back hom to his warm ,cozy bed. She decides to get home, and gets there much quicker than a tortoise can normally travel, she slides down an icy hill. This book has such playful artwork that really helps to set the tone in this fun story.

This book is for preschoolers. It shows all of the different kinds of fun you can have in the snow. I love the little turtle in it with his winter hat on. It is funny how he slips and slides on the ice. This shows kids all of the activities they can do in the snow such as build a snowman or have a snowball fight.
