This was an interesting story about a very dark child trying to understand why some skin and/or fur is light and others aren't. She's surrounded by people who aren't as dark as she is, so this is sort of a kid's way of exploring that observation.

The author is Portuguese so I wonder if the story line seems a little odd due to a language difference? I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this book. It wasn't much what I was expecting. ( )

This book was weird, mainly the story. The illustrations were good because you can tell it was color pencils used, but the story was unexpected to an extent and simply weird. ( )
