twofer by Kaitlyn O'Connor. It was easy for me to tell that these are two stories written earlier in her career. I would probably classify them more as s/f than erotica, but there is still the exquisite tension between the H/H and the sex (when it occurs) is still mega-hot. I could definately see hints of ideas that were fully realized in her Cyberevolution series.

Below - Set in the future when an unethical "company" has resorted to bio-engineering humans to up their profits. Victoria, the female captain of this ship and crew, quickly comes to realize that the "company" has far exceeded unethical and crossed to illegal in what they created from human DNA and grew in her ship while it crossed space. She bonds with the leader of the created "merfolk" and ends up needing this bond to defeat the indigenous life the company handily 'forgot' to report. Interesting story, hot merman action, and epic little guy vs big business story.

Exiled - Danica was minding her own business scuba-diving when she was mistakenly gathered up in an alien 'species/zoo collection'. When the aliens realized their mistake, they dumped her off on another alien world (Glaxo) with only a survival pack! The next thing she knows, she's been captured as a Glaxon slave...by a gorgeous Indian-looking guy. Turns out her captor is the leader of Glaxons who are themselves subjugated by lizard-men creatures. Our heroine has to adjust to the barest essentials of life and in doing so, learns what's really important. Mostly well-written, easy to follow, delicious sexual tension, and the little guys win! ( )

Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 158608724X, Paperback)

Below: Three quarters of her crew are deep sea miners, geneoids, humans designed with aquatic traits that have created creatures of such beauty that Victoria can't help but be drawn to them, particularly the merman, Raphael. When he claims her as his companion, he places her in an untenable position, but Victoria quickly discovers that the rules set down by the company that has betrayed them all are of no concern to her when it comes to Raphael, and that she is just as determined to have him as the company is to part them forever. Exiled: It was a hell of a way to end a vacation! One minute Danica was scuba diving, the next she found herself in a specimen tank on an outbound alien ship. When they correct their 'error' by dumping her on the alien world of Glaxo, she is immediately captured by Taj, Chieftain of the Glaxons, who swoops from the sky on his giant war bird and claims her as his slave. Barbaric they may be, but the blue eyed, blond haired Indian-like tribe of Glaxons are a fair race, and Taj fairest of all. When he's good, he's very, very good, and when he's bad he gives her heart palpitations in an entirely wonderful way. Rating: Graphic sex, explicit language, profanity, some violence.
