Book three of the Dahak Series. old fashioned space opera. The bad guy engineers the loss of the Heir Apparent and friends then sets about arranging a planetary catastrophe that will allow him to take over. meanwhile on a backwards world the heir and a few other survivors act like space opera heros are supposed to I only read this because I had read the other two the series. Not great writing but enjoyable. the trilogy does avoid repetition each book going in a very different direction.
