This is a really interesting read. The author approaches the whole of Luke's narrative (Gospel + Acts) to "hear" all of the story that's being told - and occasionally he draws some rather controversial conclusions along "the way". On the downside, the book suffers badly from really poor editing; more than half of the footnotes are unnecessary repetitions of quotations that have already been referenced once. I'm surrised and disappointed that Eerdmans would publish it without editing it more thoroughly. But aside from that, it's definitely a worthwhile read. ( )
