At first I was like, "Great, another picture book about getting dressed." It turned out to be cute, though. I like the way the kid asserts his will and the way the parents sort of take it in stride. The back endpapers include a nice little note for parents about why kids do this sort of thing. Nice. ( )

Book description

Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0316109487, Hardcover)

In Just Being Me books, bestselling author Robie H. Harris and syndicated cartoonist Nicole Hollander offer a first-person child+s-eye view of a family making its way through every child+s daily ups and downs, need for love and attention, and determined push for independence. In I LOVE Messes!, an inquisitive young child+s eager exploration makes a giant, mixed-up, mushy mess; and in I+m ALL Dressed!, a boy wants to get dressed his way-but his way is completely different from Mommy+s and Daddy+s idea of -the right way+! Full of warmth and good humor, here are two more emotionally honest portrayals of growing-up and parenting experiences, at the great low price of $7.99. Each book includes an afterword from renowned child psychologist Linda C. Mayes, MD, author of The Yale Child Study Center Guide to Understanding Your Child.
