This book features dozens of classic Mother Goose rhymes, but it is distinctive for each page's accompanying artwork by Wildsmith. His gorgeous, bold, colorful illustrations bring life to the rhymes, such as dancing fiddlers in "Old King Cole." Alternatively, the art lends a mysterious tone to a page, such as the boy peeking out from behind a tree in "A little cock sparrow sat on a green tree." I would definitely recommend this volume to parents and book-lovers who love Mother Goose rhymes and appreciate unusual, quality children's book art. ( )
