The introduction has very helpful information of textual criticism, especially in conjunction with Dr Metzger's Textual Commentary. The critical apparatus is provides numerous details on text variants and translation differences. With the recent passing of Bruce Metzger, we have lost two giants in the field of textual criticism. I'm not sure who is stepping up to continue their work. ( )

The standard scholarly edition of the New Testament in Greek: footnotes the most important differences among ancient manuscripts (in half a dozen different ancient languages.) An essential tool for anyone interested in what the New Testament says. (This book is all in Greek, so some Greek will be necessary to use it.)
