This is a collection of articles which McPartland has written on various performers in Jazz whom she has known and played with. Most were written before her radio show, Piano Jazz was begun. She has added a postscript to bring the stories up to 2006, or the year the artist died.
I enjoyed hearing her read these articles. She has such enthusiasm for other talented musicians in the Jazz world and is eager that they should be known. Much of the technical music talk and Jazz references were beyond me, a beginning admirer, yet I still found it interesting and entertaining as a whole.
The last CD in this collection from Blackstone Audio is a collection of excerpts from some of her Piano Jazz radio shows. Delightful. ( )
