While not quite as satisfying as the first book, the second in the trilogy was still enjoyable. The main character is getting a bit angsty, but Lynn began to flex her world-building muscles in this instalment. I would have enjoyed more about the world, although it still works as a quick read.
There were, however, a fair number of editing errors - misspellings, bad punctuation, and the like. Hopefully the third book will be a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy, and will have a slightly better level of editing. ( )

Adri just can't help herself can she? She keeps landing herself in trouble. She can't really fight for the demon side but can't fight for the humans. But can"t fight against either one. So where does it leave her? Stuck in the middle with both sides using her. And then throwing in this third side, I did not see that one coming. Now, I sit here, on the edge of my seat, waiting for the next book. It went from me rooting for the one love from book 1, to rooting for a new love that I hope is building? But now there 2 possibly more? Then every time she turns around someone is using her for their own purposes when all she is doing is trying to help them all. Shes stuck... Lets see if she can play into a hand that keeps her out of trouble?

After Adriana returns to her kingdom, she finds someone's trying to claim her throne. With the help of her loyal princess guards, the much larger opposition's soon neutralized and Adri retains the Demon King crown.
But this is the least of her problems, the humans want to begin a war with the demons because princess Salvene's missing and the king of Airean blames the demon kingdom. Adriana is once again torn between her desire to stave off a war between humans and demon, her duties to her people and her feelings for Keldrin, a human with Savior blood.

I loved the character and felt sympathy for Adri, as she just wants to wants to hold the Demon King title for her brother and father, while everyone knows she's too soft to be King and do what is necessary for her people.
There are so many twist and turns in this book , all masterfully crafted, as Adriana finally discovers the truth about her fairy blood (the one that the Wiseman discovered in the first book) and also the truth about her father and the throne of the Demon King. In this book, Adri does what she has to do to stop the unnecessary massacre of the humans by Demons under the new Demon King , while remaining true to herself and her people. It was interesting to see where the Romance element between Adrian and Keldrin took them, despite all odds and knowing that their love can't happen between a demon King and a Savior blood. Anyway, I certainly enjoyed this book and can't wait to read the next book, the Demon Queen.

I seriously wish these books were longer! What I love is the constant action and the movement of the story. There are always reasons for the characters' actions and usually the outcomes are pretty straight forward. I appreciate the fact that there is always something new to discover - a single line in a paragraph makes you go "Whaaaat??" and you keep reading to figure out what that 'what' is. I can't wait for the final book in this series coming out April 2016. Great job Lynn! I received this book as a free ebook from LibraryThing.com for my honest review. ( )

Absolutely loved it and can't wait for the next one. I have to say I'm on team Keldrin though Sadi/Sebastian has his own mysterious allure. I love how books can make you experience a range of emotions but it drives me crazy when a story doesn't play out the way you want it to. Hopefully in the next book Keldrin and Adriana find a way to break down the barriers between demon and saviour blood (possibly ending their feud) and they all live happily ever after. Well I can dream can't I?

Anyway if you're looking for a good book with interesting characters, a great storyline and killer plot then this series is for you!! ( )
