About half of the Sugar Creek Gang are out of town. So Bill, Poetry, and Dragonfly have to find something interesting to do while the others are out of town. Boy do they find excitement! While they are going frog hunting, the Gang finds a brown box out in the water. When they open it, they find a lot more than meets the eye. But they are not alone. Two other people are trying to steal that box. In the end, The Gang find themselves tied up in Old Man Paddlers cabin!
Boy, this is a great book. I totally LOVE the ending. When I first read it, Dad heard me whooping it up down stairs. I was really excited. This one has an amazing ending. ( )

It might have been a long, hot, boring summer for the three members of the Sugar Creek Gang that were left- and there were only three of us left,Poetry, Dragonfly, and me- if all of a sudden one of the most interesting, exciting, and dangerous experiences hadn't exploded like a Fourth of July firecracker right in front of our eyes.
