The story tells about a little boy who goes walking. The author asks the question, "What do you see?" so tha tthe listeners can find things in the pictures. I think that its great for a read along. It is kind of a slow read. Great for children Kindergarten to First grade. It familiarizes students with different animals. Great intro to a writing lesson on what students saw on their way to school. This is a wonderful book about a young childs walk that becomes an amazing adventure of meeting a myriad of friendly, familiar farmyard animals. The patterend, predictable text to engage the reader. She also uses rich, watercoolor illustrations that also help to keep the reader engaged. This book is very similar to Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? Short, simple, very repetitive. Very good for babies and toddlers and preschoolers. The colors of the animals are more realistic, but the artwork is a little weirder. There's no point in having both books in your library, pick one and leave the other.
