This book is about a young boy that is getting ready to go play in the snow. It begins with him putting on his jacket and than accessorizing with many different articles of clothing. The author made sure that the reader was paying attention to the book because the book had the reader repeat everything that the young boy put on. Once the little boy was dressed for the cold the went outside to play in the snow. His bright red sled ran over a snowman and soon began tears falling from his eyes. His mother noticed that he was sad and brought him in the house to take off all of the clothing that he had on when he played in the snow.

After reading the jacket I wear in the snow, I thought that it was a great book when teaching your children what they need to wear when dressing for playing in the snow. This book would be great book to read before allowing your children to play outside in the cold.

Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0688045871, Paperback)

Rhyme follows rhyme as layer after layer of winter clothing ("bunchy and hot, wrinkled a lot, stiff in the knee, and too big for me!") is first put on and then taken off to the relief of the child bundled inside. Clever rebuses and jaunty illustrations make The Jacket I Wear in the Snow especially fun for prereaders and new readers.
