The island seems like it is its own world going through the different seasons. A kitten comes to visit the island and discovers that the island is part of the whole world. It would be a great springboard to introduce island formation or various habitats. ( )This is about a little island in the ocean. Everything contributes to the island such as the weather, day and night, and the animals. One day a kitten visits the island a finds out a secret that children of all ages are sure to enjoy. It is a modern fantasy about a kitten on a little island. When the kitten finds out that the island is really part of the whole world, he discovers he is to. Nice dreamy kind of story. Extension lesson on animals that live on and visit the island. You could also talk about how islands are formed. This is by far one of the best older picture books I have read. The little island is a world of its own, going through seasons. The illustrations are amazing and breathtaking. This classic is swift enough for the youngest storytimes, and the paintings make you want to go out and explore your own little world! no reviews | add a review
