( )The chameleon desires many traits of other animals which he is granted but soon realizes he likes himself just the way he is. This is an easy story for children and teaches a good lesson. www.eric-carle.com/home.html I would recommend this book to teachers who are teaching an animal unit. The chameleon in this story wants to be like all of the other animals and his wish comes true. When he realizes that he can't do the things he did before, he wishes to be himself again. This is a good book to read to children if they are having self-esteem problems. This is a sweet book about a chameleon who went to the zoo and envied all of the animals for their distinguished characteristics. He tried to be like all of the other animals but he got to where he wasn't himself! He couldn't eat a fly because he was overwhelmed with trying to be everything else. But then he simply wished to be himself again and then he got his fly. It's a good story to work with colors, animals, chameleons, and envying others for what they have. A good lesson in this is to be true to yourself. http://www.eric-carle.com/home.html ****Good website for ways to incorporate Eric Carle books and resources into other lessons. no reviews | add a review
