This was my first introduction to the writing of Tower Lowe and I can guarantee it won't be my last. This story immediately drew me in with its lyrical and mesmerizing prose, as well as its intriguing and slightly mysterious plot, which has a subplot that weaves its way throughout the "Cinnamon/Burro" series. I can't quite put my finger on what it is that makes Ms. Lowe's writing so hypnotic, but every once in a while I run across an author that has "it," and she definitely does. This story has a dreamy quality to it, and the southwestern setting of New Mexico is one that seems so visceral and so realistic at the same time. This story will definitely draw you in to the life and mysteries of Cinnamon and her search for Momma. ( )
