None No current Talk conversations about this book. Rhoades takes a break from his usual thrillers to give us a fun caper. When a jeweled bra worth five million dollars is advertised for a fashion show, various groups are interested. The mobster boyfriend of the model sees an opportunity, but so does a small-time crook whose nephew works in the hotel where the show is to take place. Various groups, also including the security company hired for the show, the nephew and the girl he likes, and others, converge. This sort of story lends itself to stereotypical characters, and some of these are caricatures, but Rhoades does a fine job of giving several of them enough quirks, fears, dreams, and other qualities to make them into real characters. There's a good bit of humor and a satisfying ending. ( ![]() no reviews | add a review
