No matter how wise one may be there is always a lesson to be learned. The Brahmin was a dutiful man. He worked in alleviating the suffering of all beings through compassion. By performing his duty selflessly, he had become very wise. One day, while acting out of compassion, he was deceived and faced his own mortality. Searching for a little compassion from others, he found something much better: a wise jackal. The cleverness of this jackal was unseen by all until the end. The Brahmin had been given another chance and learned more about the world than he had known before. ( )
