Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0916154114, Hardcover)

The intended audience for this book is mental health professionals who want to learn a new approach for working with depressed individuals. It has been written to provide a detailed description of a research-based treatment program that has been developed for unipolar depression. The treatment approach is based on a group format, and a course entitled "Coping with Depression" is the vehicle for therapy. The efficacy of the course has been evaluated in a number of studies which show quite clearly that when evaluated as a group, the participants in this course show marked improvement in their depression level, and that these changes are maintained for at least six months after treatment.
