Eighth in The Fargo Adventures action adventure series --revolves around Sam and Remi Fargo, treasure-hunting millionaires. Remi and Sam get mixed up in another treasur hunt, centered around Robin Hood.. Exciting and fun, yet mindless. Fargoes are already characters that we know and the bad guys are developed about like Cussler usually does. In the end, a major plot point is left unresolved, and the ending is a bit rushed and unsatisfying. An OK read. ( )

Not up to standard? An interesting start, but: the misogynistic characters are just a bit...too misogynistic to be believable, A bit of the language is stilted and repetitive, a major plot point is left unresolved, and the ending is a bit rushed and unsatisfying. This has always been the weakest of Cussler's series, so its hard to say if moving on to the 4th different coauthor in 8 books is a cause or a symptom. ( )

The husband and wife team of Sam and Remi Fargo are just trying to take a vacation and Remi being the sweet wife that she is decides to try and find a rare but not necessarily valuable book to add to Sam’s collection. Well doesn’t that decision just lead them down a rabbit hole as the book in question supposedly leads to a treasure dating back to the days of Robin Hood. That chase will lead them all across the world from the United States to Brazil, Jamaica and even in England.

I love that the writers added elements of treasure stories that are widely known by mostly everyone. It made the overall story very engaging and realistic. They even mentioned the mystery of Oak Island. There has been so much pondering as to whether or not there is or was ever a treasure on Oak Island (including a TV show) so I enjoyed that they used that in this novel. How fantastic that they could pull a current and real treasure hunter mystery into this book. Yes! Fantastic! ( )
