This is one book which lives up to its title. The book has both text descriptions and colour photos of virtually every breed of horse known at the time of printing. The book starts with some background history of horse breeding, goes through some of the well known stallions of foundation stock, then goes through the breeds of horses to be found in various parts of the world.

If you want only one book on horse breeds--this is the one to get. A revised edition would be marvelous, but this is still a great reference. ( )
